How to read these iPhone repair prices

The most useful thing to understand about iPhone repair pricing in Singapore is that there is no flat rate — and any shop that gives you a firm number over the phone is guessing. Two things decide the figure: the model and the fault. A screen for an older LCD iPhone and a screen for a current OLED Pro Max are worlds apart on part cost alone, and the same "my phone won't charge" complaint can be a free clean on one phone and board-level microsoldering on another. So every price on this page is a band — "from around", not a quote. Treat the low end as a straightforward job on an older model with a standard part, and the high end as a premium panel, a larger Pro model, or extra work found on the bench.

What actually drives iPhone repair pricing

Once you know a repair is not a flat rate, the next useful thing is understanding why two quotes for the "same" repair can differ so much. Five factors do most of the work:

• Model and age. This is the biggest single lever. Newer and larger models — the Pro and Pro Max lines especially — use costlier parts and are more tightly built, so every repair on them sits higher than the same job on an older iPhone 11 or SE.
• LCD vs OLED screens. Older models (iPhone 11, SE, XR) use an LCD panel, which is far cheaper; the iPhone X and every Pro and newer model use an OLED panel, which costs considerably more as a part. This one distinction explains most of the S$80–500 spread on screens.
• Genuine vs quality-aftermarket parts. On screens and batteries especially there is a real choice. A genuine-grade part matches the original for colour, brightness and features; a quality aftermarket part is cheaper and fine for many people; a bargain no-brand part is where poor colour, weak touch and early failure come from. • Board-level vs part-swap. This is the biggest hidden cost. Replacing a whole logic board when a single charging IC or a paired chip failed is where you overpay. Component-level microsoldering fixes the actual fault at a fraction of a board swap — and keeps your data.
• Waterproof-seal renewal and condition. Any repair that opens a newer iPhone renews the water-resistant seal as part of the job, which adds a little to the figure. And a clean fault is cheap; corrosion from a spill, a previous botched repair, or damage that spread before you brought it in all add bench time.

iPhone screen replacement — the biggest price swing

Screen replacement is the repair with the widest spread, from around S$80 to about S$500, and the reason is the panel. On older LCD models — the iPhone 11, SE and XR — the display is a relatively cheap part, so a cracked screen is a modest, often same-hour fix. On the iPhone X and every Pro and newer model, the display is an OLED panel that costs far more as a part, and larger Pro Max sizes cost more again. On top of the panel type sits the genuine-versus-aftermarket choice. A genuine-grade OLED matches the original for colour accuracy, brightness, True Tone and touch response; a quality aftermarket panel is cheaper and perfectly good for many people; a bargain no-brand panel is where you get dull colour, ghost touch or a screen that fails within months. iPhone battery replacement — the best-value repair

If there is one repair that always pays for itself, it is the battery. At around S$50 to S$180 depending on the model, a fresh cell is a small fraction of a new phone and gives a sound handset a full extra day of runtime. The signs are familiar: Battery Health showing a reduced maximum capacity or a "Service" message, the phone dying at 20 or 30 per cent, sudden shutdowns in cold aircon, or a case that has started to bulge from a swollen cell — which should be dealt with promptly for safety.

Newer models cost a little more because the waterproof seal is renewed as part of the job, restoring the phone's water resistance rather than leaving it compromised. Charging port, back glass and camera

Charging port. An iPhone that will not charge is one of the most over-diagnosed faults there is. The most common cause is a charging port packed with pocket lint, and that is often a free clean on a walk-in — not a repair at all. If the port itself is damaged, a Lightning or USB-C charging flex is a modest part-and-labour job from around the low hundreds; only a board-level charging IC fault is deeper microsoldering work, quoted after diagnosis. Back glass. Rear-glass repair is quoted by model, because from the iPhone 8 onward the back glass is laser-welded and fused to the frame — removing it cleanly is a skilled job with a laser and heat, not a simple panel swap. Face ID, water damage and board-level repair

Face ID. Face ID faults are quoted only after diagnosis, because the cause changes everything. Water damage. A phone that has taken liquid is always quoted after a teardown, because the cost depends entirely on how far corrosion has spread. Liquid keeps eating into the board while the phone sits, so the sooner it reaches the bench the cheaper and more successful the outcome. Motherboard. The deepest repairs — no power, boot loops, no backlight, a failed charging or audio IC — are board-level microsoldering, quoted after diagnosis by which component failed and how many bench hours it takes. Crucially, a board fault does not mean the whole board is scrapped: we repair the individual component, which costs a fraction of a board swap and keeps your data on the original board. Is it worth repairing your iPhone, or upgrading?

The question behind every quote is really "is this worth it?" For most single-fault repairs the answer is a clear yes. A new iPhone starts from around S$1,299 and climbs well past S$2,000 for a Pro Max — while a battery, screen or charging repair is a small fraction of that and gives a sound phone years more life. A S$120 screen or a S$90 battery on a phone that is otherwise perfect is not a close call. The maths only turns towards replacing when a very old handset needs expensive board-level work, or when several things are failing at once and the combined bill approaches half the price of a newer phone.
