The iPhones we replace screens for

We fit screens across every generation still in daily use — from the iPhone SE, 8, X and 11 through the 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 families, Pro and Pro Max included. A cracked or dead iPhone screen is the single most common repair there is: phones slip off laps, land face-down, and take a knock on the corner that spider-cracks the whole panel. It is also one of the most satisfying to fix, because a good screen replacement makes the phone feel new again. It sits on the same bench as the rest of our iPhone repair and Apple repair work, and the difference between a good repair and a bad one is entirely in the detail — the grade of panel and the care taken with Face ID.

OLED vs LCD — why iPhone screens vary so much in price

Two things drive the price of an iPhone screen: the model, and the grade of panel you choose.

  • LCD iPhones — the iPhone 11, XR, SE and earlier — use a less expensive LCD panel, so those screens sit at the lower end of the range.
  • OLED iPhones — the iPhone X and every Pro and newer model use a Super Retina OLED, which is a more expensive panel and pushes the repair higher.
  • Panel grade. On OLED models there is a genuine choice between a genuine-grade OLED that matches the original for colour, brightness and feel, and a good aftermarket OLED that costs less. We explain the difference in plain terms and price both, so you decide with the trade-offs in front of you.

We will never quietly fit the cheapest panel to win a quote. If you want the closest match to the original, we will say which that is; if budget matters more, we will tell you honestly what you gain and give up.

Cracked, black, green, or dead touch

iPhone screen faults sort into a few groups, and each points to the same fix:

  • Cracked glass, touch still working. Cosmetic today, but the glass can cut a finger, the crack lets moisture in, and touch often fails next as the crack reaches the digitiser layer.
  • Cracked with dead or jumping touch. The digitiser is damaged — you get dead patches, ghost touches, or a strip that will not respond. A screen replacement restores full touch.
  • Black screen but it still rings and vibrates. The phone is alive; the OLED has failed. Replacing the screen brings it back.
  • Green, pink or striped display after a drop. Classic OLED or connector damage — again a screen replacement in most cases.
  • Nothing at all — no image, no touch, no ring. This can be the board rather than the screen, so we diagnose before quoting rather than swap a screen and hope.

Keeping Face ID and True Tone — the part cheap repairs get wrong

This is the single most important thing to understand about iPhone screen replacement, and where bargain repairs fall down. Face ID does not live in the screen. The dot projector and camera sit behind the notch or Dynamic Island, but the earpiece and sensor flex that Face ID relies on is attached to the screen assembly — and it is uniquely paired to your phone. A careful repair transfers your original flex from the old screen to the new one, so Face ID keeps working. A rushed repair that tears, omits or substitutes that flex is exactly what leaves people with "Face ID is not available" afterwards.

We treat that transfer as the core of the job, not an afterthought, and we test Face ID before your phone goes back to you. True Tone — the feature that warms the display to match the room — can also be kept on a correctly fitted and programmed screen, and auto-brightness with it. If your phone needs more than a screen — a Face ID fault that is genuinely in the sensors, or a board issue — that goes to our iPhone motherboard repair bench.

The "unable to verify this display is genuine" notice

On newer iPhones, iOS shows a Settings notice after any screen replacement not carried out through Apple's own system — even with a high-quality panel — saying it could not verify the display as a genuine Apple part. We tell you about this before we start, because it surprises people who were not warned. In plain terms: it is a parts-pairing message, not a fault. Touch, brightness, True Tone and Face ID all work normally; the notice simply sits in Settings. If a genuine-only repair with no notice at all is important to you, we will say honestly that Apple is the route for that, and where your phone is under AppleCare+ we will point you there.

Our iPhone screen replacement process

  1. Diagnosis. We confirm the fault is the screen — not the board or the display connector — and check whether touch, image and the Face ID flex are intact. Free on walk-ins.
  2. Written quote. The model, the panel grade, the price and the turnaround, in writing, before anything is opened. You approve it first.
  3. Careful opening. The phone is opened from the screen side, the battery is disconnected for safety, and the original Face ID and earpiece flex is freed from the old screen.
  4. Transfer and fit. Your original flex is transferred to the new screen, the panel is fitted and the waterproof seal renewed where the model has one.
  5. Test everything. Touch corner to corner, brightness, True Tone, Face ID, the earpiece and the front camera are all checked before the phone goes back to you.
  6. Written warranty. On the screen and the workmanship, printed on your job sheet.

Independent iPhone screen repair vs Apple

For most people a well-done independent screen replacement is faster and less expensive, keeps the exact phone and data you have, and — done carefully — keeps Face ID and True Tone. Apple's service is excellent but can mean a higher price or a whole-device swap, and a wait. The things that actually matter in a screen repair — a quality panel, your original Face ID flex transferred, touch and brightness correct — come down to how the repair is done, which we are completely transparent about. Where your iPhone is under warranty or AppleCare+, we will tell you so and point you to Apple if that is the better deal for you. We are not affiliated with or authorised by Apple; we are the independent alternative, and if we cannot fix it you do not pay a repair fee.

Our warranty on iPhone screen replacement

Every completed iPhone screen replacement carries a written warranty on the screen we fitted and the workmanship, printed on your job sheet and specific about what is covered and for how long. Fresh accidental damage after collection — a new drop, a fresh crack, or liquid — sits outside a defect warranty, and we explain exactly where that line falls before you pay. If a replacement screen shows a genuine fault within the warranty period — a touch dead spot, a display defect, adhesive lifting — bring it back and we make it right. This warranty is our own and is independent of any remaining Apple cover; we are not affiliated with or authorised by Apple.

Why customers choose us for iPhone screens

Because we treat the Face ID flex transfer as the heart of the job, so you keep Face ID and True Tone rather than losing them to a rushed swap. Because we offer a real choice of panel grade and explain it honestly instead of quietly fitting the cheapest. Because we warn you about the genuine-part notice up front, write the quote before the work so it does not change after, and back every job with a written warranty. And because your data is never touched, most models are done while you wait, and if we cannot fix it you do not pay a repair fee. After fourteen years and more than nine hundred reviews averaging 4.8 stars, the truth about your iPhone matters more to us than the margin on one screen. If your phone needs more, the same bench covers iPhone battery replacement and iPhone motherboard repair.

Questions we get every week

iPhone screen replacement questions, answered

How much does iPhone screen replacement cost in Singapore?

It depends on the model and the screen type. Older LCD iPhones such as the iPhone 11 and SE sit at the lower end; the OLED Super Retina screens on the iPhone X and every Pro and newer model cost more because the panel itself is more expensive. There is also a choice between a genuine-grade OLED and a quality aftermarket OLED, and we will explain the trade-offs and price of each before you decide. We diagnose the phone first, confirm the display is the only fault and not the board underneath, and give you a written quote before any work.

Will my Face ID and True Tone still work after a screen replacement?

Yes, when the repair is done properly. Face ID does not live in the screen, so we carefully transfer the original earpiece and sensor flex from your old screen to the new one, which keeps Face ID working — a screen swap that damages or omits that flex is what breaks it. True Tone can also be preserved on a correctly fitted and programmed screen. This is exactly the kind of detail a cheap, rushed repair gets wrong, and exactly why we test Face ID, True Tone and auto-brightness before your phone goes back to you.

My iPhone screen is black or green but it still vibrates and rings. Is that the screen?

Usually yes. A black screen that still rings, vibrates or makes sounds means the phone is running but the display has failed, and a green, pink or striped screen after a drop points the same way — the OLED panel or its connector has been damaged. In most cases a screen replacement restores it. Occasionally the display connector on the board has been affected, which is a board-level repair rather than a screen, so we confirm which it is before quoting rather than swapping a screen and hoping.

Will replacing the iPhone screen erase my data?

No. The screen is completely separate from the storage, which is soldered to the logic board, so a screen replacement does not touch your photos, messages, apps or settings, and the storage is never removed during the job. We always recommend an iCloud or computer backup before any repair as good practice, but a screen replacement on its own carries no data risk. If the screen is completely dead and you need the data off first, tell us and we will handle that side too.

Will iOS show a warning that the screen is not genuine?

On newer iPhones, iOS can show a settings notice that it could not verify the display as a genuine Apple part after any screen replacement that is not done through Apple's own system — this appears even with a high-quality panel and does not affect how the screen works day to day. We are upfront about this before we start: touch, brightness, True Tone and Face ID all function normally; it is an Apple parts-pairing notice, not a fault. If genuine-only with no notice matters to you, we will tell you honestly that Apple is the route for that.

How long does an iPhone screen replacement take?

For most models with the screen in stock it is often done while you wait or within the hour, because the phone is designed to open from the screen side. The time goes into transferring your original Face ID and earpiece flex carefully, seating the new screen, resealing it, and testing touch, True Tone, Face ID and the front camera before it goes back to you. Message us your model and we will confirm stock and a realistic turnaround before you travel in.

Is an independent iPhone screen repair as good as Apple's?

For most people a well-done independent screen replacement is faster, less expensive and keeps the exact phone and data you have, where Apple sometimes swaps the whole device. The things that matter — Face ID kept working, True Tone preserved, touch and brightness correct, a quality panel — all come down to how carefully the repair is done and the grade of screen fitted, which we are transparent about. Where your iPhone is under warranty or AppleCare+, we will say so and point you there if it is the better deal. We are not affiliated with or authorised by Apple; we are the independent alternative.
